Rey Ortiz, 34, is a Puerto Rican fashion designer and digital artist based in Los Angeles after residing and working in Puerto Rico, Savannah and Dallas. His work has been displayed and recognized by the media and fans as one full of innovation and complexity. Rey always tries to mix his digital arts' knowledge with the graphic pattern making he creates for my one-of-a-kind fashions. He believes that all art forms complement each other to create a powerful ultimate result.
On 2008, Rey (and his team) competed and won first place on an international digital art's reality show called MTV's Engine Room and during 2014 he was part of the Project Runway spin-off rightfully named Under The Gunn where "mentors" paired with designers competed for the grand prize.
Since then, Rey has been busy creating fashions for both men and women not only using fabric but incorporating extremely detail leather pieces to his repertoire. His clients range from the classic men and women to female impersonators and performers like Bianca del Rio and Alyssa Edwards, among others.
From short-shorts to jackets, gowns to pants, accessories to dresses, Rey Ortiz has a very clear point of view that can be summarize by staying away from the "cookie-cutter" and bringing something interesting to the table... EVERY SINGLE TIME.
