Since his successful run on season 3 of the hit Bravo show "Project Runway", Mychael Knight has been diligently claiming his place in the fashion industry. In addition to being sought after for his design aesthetic and fashion styling from celebrities such as Khloe Kardashian, Jagged Edge, 112, Jennifer Hudson, Tarji P. Henson, and Toni Braxton, his designs have been displayed in a variety of print publications including The Atlantan, Elle, Essence, Marie Claire, Ebony, Black Enterprise YRB, and The New York Times. His thorough design and creative direction and has also been beseeched from such corporations as Starbucks, Louis Glick, Nike, and Coca-Cola.
While simultaneously designing for his label, Mychael Knight introduced MAJK, his signature unisex fragrance, Monsieur, a men's furnishings label, in 2010 his signature dress, Two², and created a fashion entrepreneur workshop, “Fashion Fortitude”, slated to tour national in the Summer of 2013.
Mychael’s fashion savvy has also reached beyond the runway. In 2006 and 2007, he was a guest fashion commentator for the BET Hip Hop Awards and BET Awards. He has also been featured guest on CNN and HLN as fashion and style commentator, as well a 3-year staple juror for SCAD Style, and a guest Style Panelist and feature designer at Charleston Fashion Week. For the first time, on his on, Knight presented his S/S 2012 collection “Lost World” at New York Fashion Week.
He also awards his voice and designs to charities such as Cure Autism Now (CAN), recording artist Big Boi’s (Outkast) Big Kidz Foundation, & the Fernbank Museum Benefit Gala, always willing to be a commanding fashion presence for industry events and organizations. Even with a full plate of projects, Mychael Knight continuously travels the country lecturing at universities, motivating design students and inspiring aspirant designers.
